Well this week went pretty well. I did get to all four books on my TBR :D

I completed this book! I gave 'A Blue So Dark' 4 stars. It's about a girl named Aura who at 12 was left to take care of her schizophrenic mother alone. Her father abandoned the family and started a new one because he couldn't handle the stress of Aura's mom's mental illness. So for three years Aura sees her mother slowly decline until she becomes catatonic. It was such a raw and emotional read. I felt so sad for Aura and what she had to deal with. I also felt awful for her mother having to go through this kind of pain with not a big support system. If you like Mental Heath contemporaries I'd definitely check this book out.

I also completed 'The Life of Larry Chovaka' which is a 72 page short story. It's very weird and fantastical but carries a clear and positive message. YES sometimes the road you walk down is hard, but don't give up. Stay positive. Learn everything you can in what you want to do. Keep that ego in check, be humble. Help others. Be confident and eventually your efforts will be rewarded. If you can get past the fantastical you will find a hidden gem among these pages.
I gave this book 3 stars.

I was able to complete 75% of this book before I had to return it to the library which makes me said because this is a soild 4 stars for me. I do have it on hold so I can re-check it out. This is a non-fiction book about 21 influential Americans with gumption according to the author and comedian Nick Offerman. I throughly enjoyed what I was able to finish before this read-a-thon concluded. I will have a full review here on my blog when I finish the book.

This behemoth of a book I barely started today. I was able to read 100 pages. I'm hoping to continue on the 100 pages a day so maybe I can finish this book before the month is over and the Rincey Reads Read-a-long has ended. So far I'm actually really liking it. I was surprised I was able to read it. I was thinking it would be hard like Shakespear or Milton not sure why since this was published in 1851. So if you can handle reading Dickins you should be able to read this monster.
